We are proud to offer the free NHS service Pharmacy First Plus in the heart of Aberdeen City Centre. No GP referrals are needed and you can walk-in anytime. Our independent prescriber pharmacist has undertaken special training to undertake a variety of examinations and provide prescription treatments (if clinically appropriate). Ear Infections

Sore ear? We understand how painful ear infections can be, which is why our pharmacist is expertly trained to examine your ears using a medical grade otoscope.

Sore Throat

If you have a sore throat that hasn't responded to over the counter preparations or has come on very quickly, we can examine this for you and check if there is an infection.

Impetigo

Do you or your child have suspected Impetigo? It usually presents with a yellow-gold or yellow-brown crust and can affect adults and children.

Skin & Nail Infections

Whether it's cellulitis, an infected insect bite or paronychia. It could be a skin rash that you think could be infected we can assess this for you.

Acne & Clear Skin

Troubled by Acne and tried lots of over the counter preparations? We can assess and treat using advanced treatments.

Shingles

Shingles can affect everyone differently and can cause many issues. It's important to act quickly.

Hay Fever

Hay fever is a commonly affected condition, if you haven't responded to over the counter treatments, get in touch.

Sinusitis

If you are bothered with sinusitis, we can assess this for you and treat and advise as you need.

How to access?

If eligible, simply walk-in to Waverley Pharmacy or call 01224 635300 and we can arrange a consultation with our Independent Prescribing Pharmacist.

What does it cost?

If eligible, there are no costs. This is a free NHS service and this includes the cost of any treatment provided.

Is a referral required?

No referral is needed to access Pharmacy First Plus services.

What's the difference between Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus?

All pharmacies in Scotland offer the free NHS Pharmacy First service. The enhanced version of this service is called Pharmacy First Plus, there is lots of extra training the pharmacist must undertake to be able to offer this service including gaining an Independent Prescribing qualification from a listed University. This allow our pharmacist to examine, diagnose and prescribe for many conditions.

Am I guaranteed treatment?

No, the service offers a consultation. Any treatment or referral will be based on the clinical recommendation of the Pharmacist. This is to ensure your safety is prioritised as some medications are not suitable for everyone.
