Our prescribing pharmacist checks that delaying your period is safe and suitable for you.
If it's appropriate, we provide your treatment along with clear instructions on exactly when to take it.

How period delay works
There are two main approaches, and our pharmacist will help you choose the right one.
The most common is norethisterone, a tablet usually started 3 days before your period is due. You take it for as long as you want to hold your period back, and once you stop, your period typically returns within two to three days. It's a well-established, effective option for delaying your period for a one-off occasion.
If you already take the combined contraceptive pill, you may be able to delay your period by running two packs together without the usual break, rather than taking additional medication. This isn't suitable for every type of pill, so our pharmacist will check which pill you're on and advise whether it's an option for you.
